Our History
Arteca Jilava is a privately owned company , situated in the southern part of Bucharest
The company stared out over more than 70 years ago , as a small factory by the name of MIRA, who was manufacturing small range rubber products .
Since 1955, began the construction for the Rubber Plant Jilava. The new production site developed a large range of rubber technical products.
Between 1957 - 1975 the company expanded with new production section such as low, medium and high pressure hoses , industrial and v-belts, conveyor belts, metal fittings , gaskets, various articles of rubber flooring like the technical rubber sheets , automotive articles, ebonite articles and military defense products
After 1990, following several restructuring programs , the production decreased in volume but still Arteca continued producing it’s trade mark products.
After the privatization of Arteca , the largest share of the company's turnover consist of the production and marketing revenues of conveyor belts , hoses and rubber sheets.
Also , a new trend in the plant development is the modernization of the production capacities and rearranging the production space in a more efficient placement
Following the restructuring and redesigning of the production spaces, a large part of the old production space was converted into available renting spaces, thus increasing the company’s turnover and developing a new economic activity.
